Transport Issues

from Misdirection by Chris Harris

about

I was rather pleased to discover that I could put together a reasonable facsimile of the Transformers "transform!" sound, and this track all came together from there.

While the Autobots were mainly cars and the Decepticons mainly aircraft, there were several crossovers: Dead End was a Porsche 928,
Breakdown was a Lamborghini Countach, and Wildrider was a Ferrari 308.

I'll get me coat.

lyrics

They say our cars
reflect our personality
but the way this one arrived
was kinda strange, if you ask me
The car I parked on Friday
wasn't there on Monday morn
This thing towed it away
then sat there, blowing on its horn

The simple reason why
is that there's more than meets the eye

I drive a Decepticon,
It really gets annoyed
when I try to save the planet
that it wants to see destroyed

If you ask what car it is,
I'm going to take a pass
I'm not sure it's a hybrid
but it doesn't run on gas
Driving to the supermarket
really made it curse
But when I tried to park it
things soon went from bad to worse

Panels started moving
and the next thing that I knew
I was sitting on the tarmac
and my shopping bags were, too
Much too shocked to scream or shout
Imagine my surprise
My angry little runabout's
a robot in disguise...

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
