Slow Day

from An Unexpected Turn by Chris Harris

/

about

This one's for @lamerabbit over at Fifty/Ninety, who left a lovely comment about it which said in part "I hope you release this!"

So here it is. Vocal processing courtesy of my Eventide H90 Harmonizer, which can totally mess with the fabric of time and space.

lyrics

This is the end of your rope
Cancel every item that you had on your agenda
It's not so easy to cope
When the modern world has done its best to put you through the blender

Weather's closing in and turning cold
But a nice, large gin and tonic never gets old

Shut the windows, forget the rain
See whatever's bugging you is packed away
You're allowed to take a break from the pain
We're going to make this a slow day

We know your boss has been a jerk
Why's it never him who takes a hit for the team?
He can't appreciate your work
Because he doesn't understand a single word of what it means

Don't end up losing track
Of what to keep and what it's better to drop
Remember I've got your back
But it's not always the cream that ends up rising to the top

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
