Scale Factor

The dimensionless scale factor (alpha) is used in equations governing the expansion of space and time to figure out the fate of the Universe.

The Big Bang kicked off the radiation-dominated era; when everything cooled down enough for matter to form, we entered the matter-dominated era. But as dark energy kicked in to accelerate the expansion of the Universe about four billion years ago, we now appear to be living in the dark-energy dominated era.

This track saw me firing up the Una Corda once again. And yes, that's a harp in the background.
