about

The future we get isn't the future we expected, but there are some cool things in it. This is an instrumental built around a synthesizer part that was generated at random by some free, open source sequencer software called STOCHAS.

Every time you press play, the sequencer does a different thing (but I've programmed it to stick to specific scales and I'm using a separate track of MIDI information to tell it where the key changes are). What the bass line does is impossible to predict and this version is nowhere near the same as it was the last time I rendered out a copy. Is that a good thing, or a bad one? I really don't know.

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
