Perhaps Try Something Different

from Jaywalking by Chris Harris

/

about

This is both an acrostic (figuring out that this is what I suffer from was a revelation, I can tell you) and a note to remind myself to stretch out more and try making music in different genres. I think I managed that here.

And for the guitar nerds amongst you: for the lead tone on this track I'm using a "Legendary" Pignose amp (a tiny little thing that was invented by Richard Edlund of Industrial Light and Magic fame; Frank Zappa was an enthusiastic user) as a preamp, fed into my effects chain. I really liked the aggressive edge it added to my tone, so I'll be doing that again in the future.

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
