When the job becomes about executive power
They always need you to stay another couple of hours
Eventually this worm began to turn
Because it wasn't my bonus I was helping to earn

No longer suffering from schedule creep
I just turn out the light and go back to sleep

Enough with always being in high gear
Why work through doubt, uncertainty and fear?
The message coming through was loud and clear
I've bid goodbye to my extinguished career

What you are prepared to tolerate is up to you
Remember that there'll be more of it next time, if you do
Just because they drive to work in a fancy car
They're not entitled to demand you change who you are
