Excursion 1

There's a cultural dimension of attitudes to the rest of the world that runs from "what is different is dangerous" to "what is different is interesting" and I'm solidly at the "interesting" end. I'm fascinated by the melodic choices that musicians in other parts of the world make. There are so many other possibilities than the ones we're used to.

The guitars in this are doubling (well, trebling) a middle eastern instrument called a kanun, which is a type of zither. The main percussion track is a daf, which is a large frame drum—but it's been given my favourite 80s gated reverb treatment.
