After consulting one of my music text books, I discovered that 8/8 is thought of very differently to 4/4 as it consists of two compound beats and one simple beat. Each bar is therefore counted as 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2. And it all builds and builds to that final, immensely satisfying riff. I'm kind of proud of that one, so turn it up loud!

There's a definite nod to Jan Hammer in this one; he's been a major influence on my playing for more than four decades.
