I always write at least one song each summer where I try to sound like ZZ Top. This was the first of 2022's efforts. I was delighted when people picked up on the Mr Creosote reference.

I don't think that I can continue
For now I cannot see this through
There's too much goodness on the menu
I bit off more than I could chew

It's not that complicated
I've simply had too much to eat
But if it's kept refrigerated
It becomes tomorrow's unexpected treat

Gonna have to skip the gateau
gustatory humblebrag
Shown up as it isn't so
My appetite's begun to flag
Ditch the extra glass of Bordeaux
Coffee, as I start to sag
Box it all up, good to go
Gonna need a doggy bag

The bill was large enough to make me squint
Put my intestines in a spin
I couldn't face an after-dinner mint
Even if it's wafer thin...
