Development Hell

It can be extremely difficult to get the people who fund movies to agree to put up the money. They might want changes made, despite having no experience as writers. The project is at risk of mutating into something else at this stage, something that none of ots creative team particularly want. And if agreement on a way forwards can't be found, the movie risks becoming stuck in what has become known as development hell—where everyone and anyone starts chipping in with harebrained ideas which they are convinced will turn the project into a blockbuster.
