Chicanery

from Inbetween by Chris Harris

/

about

One of my favourite musical bits of self-indulgence is to play a lead line on guitar and then double it, note for note, on the synthesizer. Or vice versa. I make things slightly more challenging by only deciding to do so after I've recorded the melody line, ignoring the issue of whether or not I'm capable of pulling it off.

And there's a reason those synths have a Jan Hammer feel to them: once again we're in wannabe TV theme-tune territory. You even get the 10-second recapitulations of the main riff thrown in for good measure at the end!

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
