The title of this album was inspired by my habit of getting ideas for pieces of music late at night while I'm lying in bed, trying to get to sleep. Even though I keep a notebook right next to the bed, there have been many times when it just felt easier to ignore the ideas I was having instead of staying awake long enough to put the light on and jot them down. I always feel guilty when this happens so this is an apology to—and eulogy for—all those compositions which will never be brought to fruition.
