Last year was the first year where I noticed more than one discussion on the Fifty/Ninety site starting to talk about whether using AI to create songs was somehow cheating. But it's nothing new, honestly; software like Band In A Box has let people put together slick-sounding arrangements for years without any need for the ability to play a musical instrument. The accompaniment on this track was generated by a Native Instruments plugin called "Cuba" and was 'played' by simply pressing one note on my MIDI controller keyboard.
