(Larry Niven, 1968)

The first "hard" science fiction I ever read (the genre is so-called because it respects the laws of physics and characters have to get about the Universe while respecting the laws of physics as we understand them rather than relying on a magic Macguffin to solve all their problems) was Larry Niven's "Ringworld". But it was "A Gift From Earth" that introduced my to the idea that the future might not end up being the utopia of flying cars and limitless energy that we hoped.

My notes for this track just read, "eBow freakout and bass".
