about

KBO1999 HU11 Deucalion

Deucalion was the son of Prometheus, who stole the secret of fire from the gods. He escaped the flood sent by Zeus by building a chest, so he's a parallel to the biblical legend of Noah. Rather than taking along an ark, Deucalion and his wife repopulated the Earth by throwing rocks over their shoulders. The rocks magically became living beings.

Deucalion was discovered in 1999 and yes, it's another cubewano. It has a diameter on the order of 210 km and takes 295 years to complete one orbit of the Sun. With its strong association with creation myths, I decided this track needed to be more upbeat, so it's the first piece to feature electric guitar. There will be others.

about

Chris Harris Bristol, UK

I'm still trying to get the music I record to sound like the version I can hear in my head. To do this I've ended up playing every instrument I can get my hands on. These days, I'm closer to "That Sound" than I used to be, but the journey continues.
